Aid and support to displaced persons

Most of the population in Mogadishu escaped from the city because of the everlasting war going on in Somalia for over decades.
Una scuola per la vita Association has created structures for the housing of persons and organized the distribution of drinking water and food.

The closure of Madina Warsame School and kindergarten due to the clashes in the capital has not prevented our association to continue training and educating of boys and girls displaced from Mogadishu.

Between 2007 and 2008 the majority of the population residing in Mogadishu has fled from their homes because the city was shelled a number of times by Ethiopian troops and the people started to flee as the danger was increasing day by day.

Many people were badly wounded or killed by naked bullets or the bombings by being caught in the falling beams, roofs and crushed stone-walls because they ran into their houses when the shelling started.
The majority of Mogadishu people have settled on the south road linking the capital to Afgooye district or by Garasbaley (thirteenth km) to the former Faculty of Agriculture (the twenty-third Km).
The areas where refugees are concentrated: Garasbaley, Elasha biyaha, Hawa Abdi, Lafole and at the Faculty of Agriculture and now you can see large homeless families, finding shelter under a few trees there.
